What do "Reported" and "Contested" labels mean for a buyer or holder?

If you are thinking of buying a labelled item elsewhere: the label means its ownership is in question. Buying it does not clear the label, and you may end up in the dispute.

If you hold a labelled item: you can respond to trust@unvault.com with a signed message from the holding wallet, how and when you acquired it (with transaction hashes), what you paid and to whom, and anything else showing good faith. If the evidence shows you acquired it before the reported compromise or that the reporter authorised the transfer, the label is removed. Otherwise it stays until the reporter withdraws, the item is returned, a court decides, or the reporter fails to keep the report current.
