What is a crypto wallet?

A wallet holds the private keys that control an address on a blockchain and uses them to sign transactions and messages. Your assets are recorded on the chain; the wallet is the key to them. Lose the keys (the seed phrase) and nothing can recover the assets — not the wallet maker, not Unvault.

Types: browser-extension wallets, mobile wallets connected through WalletConnect, and hardware wallets that keep keys on a separate device. On Unvault you connect a wallet instead of creating an account with a password, and you sign a gas-free message to prove you control it.
