How long does a cross-chain move take, and what does it cost?

A move has four costs, all shown before you confirm:

1. Gas on the origin chain for the vault transaction.
2. A LayerZero messaging fee, paid in the origin chain's native currency, which covers delivery of the message to the destination chain.
3. The Unvault vault fee of 0.69 USDC per move.
4. Gas on the destination chain for activation (claiming the active instance).

Timing depends on finality on both chains and on the messaging network. Most moves complete within minutes. During the move the item is locked in the vault contract; it is not lost and it is not held by Unvault. If a move takes longer than expected, see My cross-chain move is stuck — what do I do?.
